They're IN!! Memcal adapters for all!
This has a locating notch so you don't have to worry about confusing which end goes where:
And the hole for a cable tie, for secure, positive retention.
Unassembled kits will run $15 each, shipped lower 48.
Assembled kits will run $20 each*, shipped lower 48.
*I may charge more for the assembled kits in the future, there's a lot of pins.
Quantity discounts available. I don't have the parts in yet, so I'm not ready for orders just yet. They should be in before wednesday.
PS - Yes, they're blue. Neat huh?
PPS - I can offer 27SF512 EEPROM/flash chips for $3 with your order, and *possibly* a Zero-insertion-force "ZIF" socket for an extra $7. The ZIF socket has a lever that allows you to install/remove chips just by dropping them in. Makes it a breeze. I need to make sure they work with the board first though.

Well, everything came in, so I'm ready for orders... If you want a ZIF, it will take an extra week before I can ship.
Pics of modifications necessary if you assemble one with a ZIF (you need to bend the pins over so it sits flat against the board):
After ZIF install:
I've changed out thousands of chips with just a flat tip screwdriver, so you guys now have it easy.
ZIF add-on will be $7 extra.

Well, if you want to get into tuning, or want to tune your engine, there's no easier and cheaper way than to buy one of these.
Basically, no unsoldering of memcals or proms. Just plug it in, plug in your new chip, and off you go! If you need more information, refer to this thread:

Memcal
I am new to all of this and due to the engine I am building I am going to need to get a new chip. I have a 91' speed density set-up. What would I need to do if I purchased this to get my car running.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi,
Well, you'd need a memcal adapter, a chip (the 27SF512 I sell above), and a chip burner. Go on ebay and search for "willem eprom". There are all sorts of options and most are <$40 last I checked. Hope that helps,
Ryan

I'll take one of the assembled units. Still $20 including shipping, and the above PP address still ok?

Yeah, I'd be keen on one. I'm from australia. Is there any issue with posting over here? Also, do you know approx how much it would be for the assembled unit, a 27SF512 chip and postage?
Thanks,
Simon

Assembled with chip would be $23. Send me $31, and if postage is less than $9.50, I'll refund you the difference.

Depends on what you want.
The prices below are shipped in the lower 48...
$15 for unsoldered adapter kit,
$20 for soldered/assembled adapter
If you want a ZIF, add $7 to the above, if you want a '512 chip, add $3.

Sorry! I am not sure what I need exactly but I am hoping you can tell me what I need (a sellers dream).
I have a 91' stock speed density system. I have made many modifications and will need new programming. Do you also burn chips?

So in otherwords, you want to get started with programming your own chips?
If you made major modifications, and might need to burn a few dozen chips, I would recommend getting the assembled w/ZIF and '512 chip ($30 for all that). If you only made minor changes, you can save money by not getting the ZIF ($23 for that). But it does make changing chips a lot easier. (Drop-in vs pry-in)
I can burn a chip with whatever binary you want (you provide it, unless I can find it), but I do not do custom tuning or anything. You're on your own for that. See my post above for info on what to search ebay for. Then you just need a copy of tunerpro, and you're off to the races.

Good question... If they let me ship it "letter post", it's just $3. If they make me send it "global priority" it's $9.50. I send them in a padded mailing envelope, so, I'm not sure what it qualifies under.
Assembled with chip would be $23. Send me $31, and if postage is less than $9.50, I'll refund you the difference.

Correct. And if you can solder it yourself, you save $5 off that.
As of today (9/5) there's a 3 day waiting period for more ZIFs though.
By the way, quantity discounts available if you want to pick up a few for local swap meets or something... make some cash on the side...
