8.5 10 bolt and SouthSide suspension 3rd gen DIRECT FIT!
This is the PERFECT set up for a drag or street/strip car. NO MORE WEAK REAR END ISSUES AND do away with that pain in the a** torque arm. I have a complete, ready to install in any 3rd gen(or 4th I guess?) 8.5" 10 bolt rear from a second gen car. The spring perches and shock mounts are all welded in place, I used a regular type panhard bar on top of the rear with rod ends, this is also included. The SouthSide bars are welded to the rear and the crossmemeber for them will be included...it will just need welded to your frame connectors. The rear is basically bulletproof and ready to go. It has all Strange components...3.90 gear set, 33 spline axles and spool, non C-clip housing ends and 5/8th stud kit. It has drum brakes....also all basically brand new. All of this has about 1 1/2 seasons on it. I am building a tubbed 4-link car for next season as I plan on running a transbrake and goin FAST!
For anyone not familiar with the SouthSide set up, it is a streetable suspension...made to clear exhaust. It has 2 bars that weld to the rear and you then remove the lower control arms and torque arm as they are no longer needed. The bars then mount to pivot points on a crossmember which welds to your frame connectors. Essentially they are a very basic non- adjustable ladder bar in function. They worked FANTASTIC, I was getting mid 1.5 sec 60' times with my good motor and high 1.6's with a mild 350. Car hooked great every time and went as straight as could be.
Included in this deal is the complete ready to install 8.5 rear drum to drum and SouthSide set up along with adjustable rear shocks, a pair of rear springs which through a good bit of trial and error I found to work the best. I would like to get about $1,000 for entire set up which if you price a 9 inch or 12 bolt makes this a STEAL. Everything is still in the car, which has a full roll bar in it 8.5" Centerlines with 28X10.5 slicks that tuck in the wheel wells beautifully and Centerline front pizza cutters, set up for a fuel cell and has the battery reloated to the rear. A deal could be worked out for the entire car as a stripped roller, the body needs paint but is otherwise pretty decent.(keeping all the other goodies for the new car!) If you only want the rear and suspension I will carefully cut the crossmember loose from the frame connectors in the car so you only have to weld it up in your car( or I would be more that happy to take care of that also) and go racing!
Again that is $1,000 for a complete bulletproof rear and excellent suspension. I removing it from the car and listing it on ebay in about a week but thought I would see if anyone might be interested here first. I will get some pics of it over the weekend and post on here too. Shoot me any questions you might have, I may be interested in some kind over really interesting trade but am mostly only looking to stir up some cash to throw into the new money piut..errr race car LOL
