305 Vortec heads, rebuilt, low time
305 Vortec heads, rebuilt, low time
Originally from a 98 Chevy pickup, these 305 Vortec heads were rebuilt and put on an engine and ran for less than 20 hours in a rally car. They were not overheated or anything and the motor ran great when pulled.
Includes the two heads, fully assembled with valves, springs, retainers, keepers, rockers, gall nuts and adjusting nuts. Requires center bolt covers (covers not included, but if you really need some I can maybe dig some up).
Ready to be cleaned off and bolted on.
Prefer local deal (I am in San Antonio and travel frequently about Texas) but can ship (buyer pays shipping).
I'm not on this board too often, please email me with an offer.

*edit: will possibly trade for 16x8 factory wheels (irocs or gta)*

errr....
I'm not 'playing games' I am looking to sell some heads. If I knew of an exact asking price, I'd put it. I'd love to trade for some 3rd gen factory 16x8 camaro iroc (or gta) wheels.
I've got an offer of 150 already and I think that is a bit too low. For that much, I'll keep them. If you'd like to offer more, please do so.
Will post some pics this weekend.

Costas

Okay, I replied to some PMs and some email.
Casting number is 12552520, and they would ship from 78232. Figure 45lbs per head, each in it's own box. I'll post pics this weekend.
Thanks everyone!!

Costas

I think youd be hard pressed to get $150 for a set of Vortec 305 heads. They really arent that great.
And I think you'll be hard pressed to get 300$ for a diff that is a bitch to find parts for that I can buy local for 200$. However, I don't go acting like a troll and sh_tting up your thread.
You may find someone needing a complete rear, and 300$ is fine for them. I hope you do and I hope the deal is beneficial to both of you. I may find a guy needing small bore heads who either has an extra set of irocs (~175-250 avg price depending on condition where I live) or completely understands that it will cost him more than what I want to rebuild his heads and it makes good sense to buy mine. The fact that your diff does not appeal to ME does not mean I should go over and poop on your post. What sense does that make?
Dude, if you are not interested, just move along. Be a grown-up about it. Seriously.
These heads make very good power on small bore buildups which has been documented many times. They did great for me on a 305. If they aren't for you....that's cool, go away.
Cheers,
Costas
ps: kudos to the mods/owners for having the email-notification thing. Now I know when I get a post! THANKS!

Actually, I was interested until I saw the asking price. As for the 9-bolt rear...check around. Those actually go for somewhere in the neighborhood of $300 with that gear ratio, and disc brakes. The fact that its much stronger than a stock 10-bolt alone is reason enough for it to be worth that. Theres people deep into the 11's running a stock BW 9-bolt. Anyway, Im not trying to **** on your post...but ive never seen a set of 305 Vortec heads go for that much. But hey, more power to ya hoss.

but yet you still are....as evidenced by the next moment you type something...
Personally, it's below me, but I sure do hope someone goes and sh_ts up your posts now saying what you are selling isn't worth what you are asking. It's strange because you SAY 'I'm not trying to...' but then you still do (shakes head and sighs....guess I'll have to try something different now...).

Wow...275 each brand new. 550 for a pair. I don't want ANYwhere near that, and mine INCLUDE rockers, gall nuts and adjusting nuts!!!!
Of course, you WILL need to clean mine up a bit...but I think getting a pair for less than the cost of one is a pretty good deal!

I have not cc'd them, but I would imagine so. They are very small. I've seen buildups where guys put them on 350s when they have to run 'stock heads' to get good flow and higher compression.
If you need them CC'd I can do that and get pretty close, but I don't have a pro setup or anything.

Wow...I just saw this.
Let's see...I'm a dork because I'm trying to get a guy to stop sh!tting on my thread. Wow...well I guess I'd much rather be the 'dork' than the felching d!ck weasel who goes and ***** on threads. But hey, that's just me.

Just to set the record straight and get these guys to stop lying off their ***, GM Vortec L30 305 heads are very much like the 350s. I know for a fact that the 059s flow almost identically to the 062s, I have PERSONALLY FLOW BENCHED THEM! on a superflow bench up against stock 062s back when this same discussion came up a few years back. They have a slightly smaller intake valve at 1.84" with the same 1.5 exhaust valve and the same exhaust flow. They have slightly smaller 58cc chambers and lack the rear most peak in the combustion chamber. They are still a "FAST BURN" style head.
