T56 6 speed conversion Everything and more!
I have everything to convert your thirden to a six speed, except the pedals and master cyl.
Transmission is a Borg Warner aftermarket t56 part # 1386-000-011
It has about 8k miles on it, never a problem. Very nice aftermarket shifter (not a short throw) but still gives a great position for shifts with its curve.
Also included is the stock bellhousing/throwout bearing/fork
Hays clutch and pressure plate (still has life, but I might change due to the fact it is out of the car), stock flywheel from 5 speed 1987 305 GTA
Spohn crossmember with built in driveshaft loop and adjustable torque arm. All powdercoated in Red. There is some rust and nicks in the coat, but will not affect performance of unit. The driveshaft is from an LS1 aluminum 3" monster that has been shortened for the swap. Lastly, a center console from a 4th gen TA with single cupholder. It is in ok shape, will need new boot plastic retainer though, boot is ok.
Like I said everything, but the pedal assembly. This would be a very quick swap for a current t5 (that is how mine was), but can be done from an auto tranny as well (see the tech articles on this site) I had this in my 1987 GTA for the last 5 years, although I didnt use the car for about 1.5 yrs. I have since parted it out (was hit in an accident) and have a few items to sell still. I am located in Charlotte, NC and really do not want to ship.
Send me an offer if you would like, but I will also be putting this conversion on ebay as well. I have all receipts and instructions for this swap. Everything new totals to over $3200, and there is only about 8k miles on it, mostly highway driving, but I did have some fun too!
If local, I can deliver and even help set it up with you. Let me know if there is anything else I can answer.

Yeah, I just moved to NC about a month or so ago. I will have to change that info. I will be up for thanksgiving, so I could bring it with me. I really wanted to test the waters here, and see what kind of offers I would get. Im not going to take low ball offers, I paid over $3200 for this, and I only put about 8k miles on everything. Thanks for addy catch though, Im going to fix it asap.

why did you have to shorten the driveshaft? is it not a 4th gen t56 im assuming, because the 4th gen t56 is the same lentgh from input shaft to output shaft as a t5

No, this is an aftermarket BW T-56 The driveshaft and torque arm both needed to be shortened. I had the DS shortened and balanced, and Spohn had a kit with the corrert size Torque arm/x-member/ds loop. The tranny will also mount up in the floor with the shifter hole (T5) and the stock shifter console. THis makes installation even nicer.

yes, it uses the t5 bellhousing and same clutch... I have everything to bolt up to your block, and get going minus the pedal/clutch cyl. I also have the instructions to get it going, and everything from spohn to set up the torque arm. Let me know if there is interest before the weekend. THat is when it will go up for auction on *bay. Thanks
