I did the swap in my 85. Shroud and fan should be three pieces, lower shroud, fan mount/assembly and upper shroud.

Uses the same screws and brackets that the mechanical shroud uses. The bottom piece mounts inside the lower lip not outside like the mechanical shroud, so you may have to remove the clips from the body so the screws can pass thru and engage the lower shroud clips. To do a stock style swap you'll also need the fan relay and pigtail from the drivers side firewall and the temp switch and pigtail. Don't forget the motor pigtail. These pigtails are difficult to locate, although the temp switch pigtail is available from TPI Parts (sp?).

ok good info thanks

i dont have my bolts for mounting the mechanical shroud in, they were removed from the car before i even got it, and this was over 6 years ago, but i probably have them around from past part outs, but i wouldnt know which ones they are now

also for wiring i would just go with a toggle and relay

because i am running non computer LG4

i see that there is a temp spade connector in the radiator tank

is that for ground side of the fan circuit ? or for the ECM temp ?

for the fan right ?

thanks
