why the low mileage if the engine is an 01'?

It was pulled out under warranty back when the car had little miles on it. Engine is sealed and stored indoors since it was removed.

I'll have to look up how much other parts would cost, accessories, intake, wire harness, exhaust, etc. Before I would be able to get serious about the purchase.

It seems it might be more feasible and cheaper to look for a used all iron truck engine and avoid having to search around for possible parts while still considering the piston slap problem, which according to GM is not a huge problem unless you granny drive it.
