One of the neat items we noticed in the new ’09 GM Performance Parts catalog is a muscle car oil pan that appears to be the best deal for swapping LS-series engines into Chevelles, Camaros, Novas, and other early cars with limited engine crossmember clearance. While at first this pan appears to be the great solution to engine-swapping problems, we did some investigating. This pan is actually the latest LH8 truck pan use the ’08 to ’09 Colorado with a sump that measures almost 8 inches in depth. The GM part number is 19212593, and it comes with the pan, oil pump pickup tube, gasket, bolts, and windage tray for a decent price.
