SOLD

SOLD!!

Thirdgen fuel tank that has been modified with a bottom sump. Tank is in excellent shape, sender, and new mounting straps included.

No fuel pump in the tank. This is a setup for a rear mounted external electric fuel pump with a return to the tank.

Asking $75.00

You pay shipping. Pick up would be better.

Edited to add; There will be no shipping of this tank. Shipping charges via UPS are over $100 so I'm got this for sale as pick-up only. Sorry.

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

Not sure about NY, but I did get a quote from UPS to ship to North Carolina and it was; $121 and change. So you can probably figure about the same or maybe more.

It is an odd shape and over sized so I guess they charge more because of that??

Still interested?

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

OK, here is the deal guys. I have had this advertised in several mediums and got shipping quotes to three places, NC $121, Ohio $108, NV $138. I'm not taking it to the hardware store again for another quote to where ever. Please don't take this wrong, I still want to sell it but not really crazy about shipping it as the shipping charges are unreal. You can buy the sump and pay to have it installed cheaper.

Here is what I'll do, you send me $250, ($75 for tank, $175 for shipping). As soon as the check, MO, whatever clears, I'll ship the tank to you and refund the excess if any. You will get the receipt for the shipping. If it's more than $250 total, I won't ship it till I talk to you. My Ebay name is "overdriv" if that helps you any.

Man that is a lot of money for what you're getting, better think about it. I really don't think shipping is a good idea for this.

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

^^^no this would not be direct bolt in due to the sump and having to run an external fuel pump

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

It will fit a thirdgen direct bolt in. It has a sump added to the bottom, see pictures, and a return bung on top, see pictures. It is meant for an application where one would have an external fuel pump going to a bypass regulator type system, or it could be used as a dead head system and the return bung plugged or vented.

There is a GM sending unit for the fuel gauge that was said to work. I personally have never had gas in it.

The tank is located in Beardstown, IL PM me for a phone#.

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

I don't know for sure but I'd say, knowing the guy that this car belonged to, that he checked it when it was done. I know it was tig welded and although the welds do not look like a robot did it, it's not for a show car.

No guarantees for $75.

Sorry for any confusion--
We are running an external pump.
Having never pulled a gas tank before,
would there be any mods needed for the
sump??
Thanks

None that I can think of, except for your modification to your plumbing.

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

Since there are still folks contacting me about shipping of the gas tank, please understand that I have found the shipping to be very expensive making the tank not worth the total cost. So to prevent any more misunderstandings, the tank is still for sale but for pickup up only. Sorry.

Re: Modified Fuel Tank

I am planning to be at Cordova drag strip Saturday the 28th. If you want the tank I'll bring it that far. Otherwise you will need to come visit me in Beardstown.
