Ls1 swap?

Ls1 swap?

I just found a lt1 motor with Wiring harness computer no trans that needs rebuilt for 400$ I want to swap out my l98 could I just swap the heads and mod the intake? Will the motor work with my transmission? And could I get a better deal from the bone yard? Let me know your opinions I don't want to spend a bunch of $. I have a stock l98 I'd like to eventually run a 13.6 in qtr mile but mainly enjoy it on the street. My motor has 100,000 miles runs good trans and motor both leak a little. Let me know your thoughts

1. Wrong section. This is the classifieds section, for selling and buying, not advice / help, which brings me to my next point...
2. Use search. Believe it or not, somebody on this board has listed an LT1 motor on here before and had an asking price. Other people have also asked whether or not an LT1 intake or heads will work on an TPI motor.
3. You don't need to swap your motor to run a 13.6 1/4mi. There are plenty proven TPI combos out there. Again, use search.

FWIW, none of the ideas you mentioned sounded like good ideas to me. Go back to the drawing board.

Sorry man I must have been looking for answer in the wrong section.. I'm out of town working and I'm on my iPhone it not easy with this tiny screen. What the proper section? I was planning on getting a lt1 intake with injectors no ECM do you know if I can just mod a plug it and it's trottle body on my l98? I've been told lt1 head won't work on my l98? Let me know I'll try and be more careful I tried to sure and view 250 post got no answer and I accidentally typed ls1 but it's lt1 and l98 only

I'd start with the motor swap section to answer your questions, but I'll help where I can since I'm here. LT1 heads have extra water passages that must be blocked off (welded shut). Not worth it IMO. To use an LT1 intake the distributor hole must be drilled.and you need the '93 throttle bracket. Also not worth it IMO. That's just based on what you've said here. 13.6 and daily driven is very possible with a TPI setup. Np reason to make a bunch of extra work for yourself in swapping to a different FI setup.
