i dont think it is but if it is its very surface. probably is just dirt but ill check when i go look for the y pipe.

ok went out and got the box down.. good news and bad news.

good news is box is unopened.
bad news is its not a y pipe. its the full exhaust. 16820hkr box weighs 58 lbs.

seeing as i have headers and full exhaust minus y pipe, i must revise what i advertised.

so the headers and the exhaust are bout 729.90 new from summit.
so ill go 550.00 plus shipping, or best offer.

Im negotiable so dont think its cast in stone. also dont think low ***** will get it either.

aslo the markings on the headers do appear to be surface rust.i think it will come off easily without much issue. just a bit of polishing. i say that cause theyve never been polished since being off the mock up mounting.

Well there's a late Christmas present for you. I guess I've got a little issue with the headers. Ceramic coated headers shouldn't have rust. The integrity of the coating has been compromised. Can it be polished? probably. Will it rust again? absolutely. Not saying it's a deal breaker, but should be considered. Also, the gaskets and bolts are missing. Let me think about it.

 

i suppose so. I personally dont kown bout the ceramic coating. I know that the coating was done by Hooker, and i also know that they have not been on a running motor. I know they were on a motor but it never was fired, it was took apart, and these have been in storage ever since.

I thought i had read somewhere once that ceramic coatings arent 100% indestructible, and that they're just a baked on ceramic painting, but idk. I will consider it in any bartering on the price. Like i said its not cast in stone.

bolts in my experience need to be replaced anyways with the alan (hex) key type because of clearance and ease of bolting up anyways. gaskets, well thats personal preference. I like using copper crush myself or straight high temperature silicone but to each their own both of those had been and will be taken into any negotiations as well of course
