I have dibs on this thing since 1st of nov last year, I agreed with the guy to buy it so please don't step in line again. I had a written agreement that I would purchase it, waiting was on his insurance adjuster/parting out.

 

I had been asking about it too. Someone else had a deposit on it and backed out. Not sure what this written agreement was but as of today it was for sale agin. I too have it in writing that it was being sold - then the car was off the market. Already paid for as of now. I think you are about 4 hours late. Not sure what to tell you. I sent you a PM that I was goig to sell one of the used ones I had, didn't hear back. Until Joe at thepartsplaceinc.com makes them, I will be buying everyone I can get my hands on. I went to install one of the used ones I had and missing parts, this one has everyhting I need to complete my install without having to break open a NOS one. 1991-RS should have his over to them by now.

 

This was off the market - as far as I can tell all deals were off, written or implied.

What is your problem? Are you trying to make my life miserable? With the way you are behaving here I wouldn't buy a shifter from you if it was the last damn shifter on the planet. You want to sell me one of yours but want to buy this one out from under me? I don't like getting ripped off like that. A lot of people here have absolutely no busineness ethics. Where I come from, ones promise/word actually means something and a deal is a deal.

I am 4 hours late?? I waited or 3 months for him to get bacl to me that he had the shifter out of the car. Just checked, my PM was from October, so even earlier.

 

You don't need to buy one from me. I will just hold onto them. I'm in no rush and I too got the smae PM. He just wanted to sell it.

 

He replied to my PMs starting back on Oct 31st, I agreed to purchase it back then but he had to wait on his insurance adjuster and take it out o the car. I was on this way before you were. Please respect someone elses deal in the making instead of bluntly stepping in line, waving your cash.

the ONLY issue I have with you saying this is YOURS. If it was yours, why was it posted out on the open forums? Why didn't you two just do a deal that was set in stone behind the scene? Something does not make sense with it being "yours". I have not been here as long as you, that is true but I am going to have these either remade by myself or die trying. It has nothing to do with you personally. I am glad there are guys like you here, I have learned a lot but still love these shifters. Remember, they are not just for F- bodies. I have a friend with a GN and a SS Monte that want these for themselves. I am working on plates for them as well.... I am okay with how you feel about me. I can live with that but want to see these in some other 700R4 cars as well. Then when I get the rights from B & M I have a better market.

I had the deal set in stone, I can't read the guys mind. I waited patiently for months for him to reply that he was ready to take out the shiter. I'm not paying someone and then waiting 3 months, with paypal after a couple weeks my money is gone forever I once got burned on an intercooler for 2700$ and they refunded me 36 dollars so not doing that again.

How many do you need to reproduce them? 15? 30? a 100 perhaps??

the one on eBay, I was going to bid on but once it hit over $300 I was done. It was missing parts and you would not have been even able to hook it up. Truly, I do not have one that is NOT NOS that I can use. The NOS ones will stay complete in the box. The other ones are missing mounting brackets and dust covers, miscellaneous parts. I was being nice steering you away form the one on eBay because you said you were getting one even if it was $600. If you would have won it for that you would have had a few hundred more trying to find the parts.

As far as these go this is MY OPINION. I don't think they are worth it. I mean I can buy a quarter stick shift and a shift selenoid for the same price. But to all their own and they're money I just like to spend mine on performance parts.

Twin_Turbo, I understand your frustration with this. I was told early on that someone else was buying it. There was a deposit put on it and the car was not going to be parted out for a while. I think he just wanted to sell it, money is green and it was simply for sale yesterday. I don't know what to tell you other than I sent money and bought the shifter. I was not going to sell junk by any means. I am not here to play the sympathy game nor the psychological mind games of what is right for you. If this was an official deal no one else would have been in line to buy it. In addition, the last one you had locked in didn’t happen either. You have been here 10 years and have never bought one? I have owned my car since Oct 2011 and acquired a few already. You have 9 years and 10 months on me, complaining that I am buying items you want. T is very strange to me. I said I wanted one I could use that is complete down to every part. I am missing a couple parts on the used ones I have but I am going to have these parts made for others who will need them for their setup too. I would not sell junk, I would only sell with complete knowledge of what you were getting.

I don't have access to craigslist, only ebay and this foum. I have been looking for one since I have started redoing my 87 camaro, it's an auto. My TA is a manual, as is my 88 5.0. no need for one there. I'm in the Netherlands, I can only buy safely on ebay and somewhat safe here, not on craigslist so I don't have the resources open to me that you do.

You can say there was no deal but there was, the pm is testament to that. That's also the reason why the seller is quiet as a mouse, didn't even have the decency to send me a PM.

I'm done searching, next time there is one you will jump in waving your money when I'm sleeping and pick it from under me. I have a sneeking feeling that you are also the one who bought the shifter from drperformance by offering more.

All a bunch of stand up guys bhere, selling sold shifters, not honoring an agreement and so on. I have never ever in my life had such bad dealings are here trying to buy a shifter. So out of 5 you missed all of them. The ONE that drperformance sold out of the 5 is the one you think I drove to the East Coast and picked up? I think I know why you are not buying shifters; you are a little crazy. You said I was offering you "junk" when you never even saw what I had. You say everyone promises items to you then backs out. You say you will pay $600 for one if it pops up on eBay but you still don't own one. You have $200 or $250 tied up in PayPal like that is all you can swing. Do you want to buy a shifter? Offer the amount that you know you will pay and no one will beat you out.
I know on this particular dual/gate the seller sent me PM's as well as me to him, early on and as far as I knew that shifter was going to Detroit Performance. I still stayed in contact because I know they had a deposit on the shifter but strange things happen. Turns out they did not wait any longer and THEY EVEN HAD A DEPOSIT TO BUY IT. Some people change their mind! I was surprised because I talke to the seller even before I knew there was a for sale post. We agreed on a price. I hung up the phone and went to check and low and behold - there was the ad. Then I dibbed the item.
The deal is: people change their mind, There are a lot of impulsive people in the World who want something for a while then change their mind. You have to stay focused on the prize and pouting that you wouldn't buy "junk" from me just goes to show, you don't want a shifter, you want to be a baby and say you are a victim of the horrible Shifter Melodrama.
I cannot use every one I have but on another note: who then bought the one off eBay. It doesn't seem to be anyone on this site???? Hmmm... Are there other crazy people out there? I will tell you this, I have two eBay accounts. One is well over 1400 feedback and the other is around 12. I think the person that won the one on eBay was in the 30+ range. The perosn that did buy it will have a tough time ever installing it since it is missing items and without the Hurst mouting bracket it will never work correctly. The shifter will not line up correctly nor shift correctly. I did have mine mounted and tested with the factory cable (have one that works this way too) and even it needed another bracket that I will have to have made. They are not that simple to connect without the correct parts. Maybe the guy who bought the one off eBay was the one who bought the one from the East Coast too? I have had PM's from a guy on the West Coast looking for 3 of them for three third gens he personally owns. I live almost 1000 miles from either Coast. I live right on the middle of the US. I do not have a lot of opportunity here but I am still putting forth effort on having these made. or converted form 3 speeds to 4. My offer to sell you one of the used ones is now expired. Buy the next one that shows up.
