Hey evilstuie, I was wondering why you would want a 10 bolt shipped clear to AUS when the consensus here leans toward the 9 bolt as being the stronger of the two?
We have had a hard time getting 9 bolt parts here in the past, and they are still expensive to get shipped here. I'm sure there are lots of guys in the states that would swap you even for a 9 bolt in equal condition if it weren't for the small fortune involved in shipping. My guess would be around $800 US to get one there. I see good 10 bolts with a 3 series carrier and posi going for around $100 - $300 here, depending on condition. For that you could be on your way to a nice 9".

Re: 10 bolt 3.42
Hey Sleeper,
Yeah problem here is the 9bolt bits are cheap and readily available, but the housing isn't. There firebirds aren't all that common here, most guys go for the 1st / 2nd gen ones.
So saying that 9" is going to need a fabrication place to do one up and when all's done probably looking at minimum 2$k+
I've got 2.77 open 9 bolt with a leaking left rear axle seal, drums and don't think its really worth spending the money when I'll need to replace everything to get it up to scratch.
If I can find one in california, there's a shipping place that should get it here in a container for about $200
Sorry to hijack the thread, free bump though for a good deal.
