Hello mr Bryan! please reply to my personal message about the cylinder heads? The valve guides are completly wasted and have been knurled.

 

If you need me to setup a dial indicator showing the valve movement with a video let me know. Just bye the look of it the intake valves moves .030 and the exhaust are about .005 side to side with the valves slightly open. This is true for all the valves.

 

I had a machine shop do my heads and knurled them instead of calling me to see if I wanted to replace then 3 months later I pulled them back off and had new guides and vavles installed. pissed me off.

 

Thought id add that i never ran these heads. They sat in my brothers garage for a few months before i sold them to tuned performance

How they fit on 113 heads. You can clearly see Bryan there are identifications these were the heads you sold. If you look at the cylinder head temp sensor hole the rust around it and the scratch as compared to your posting pictures. Also the springs, arp studs. All I am asking is that you help correct the situation. I have been disabled for three years. The heads are just a little more than my maximum lifting limit. I have had my wife help assist me with lifting to prevent more injury to my body. I would like to get them to a machine shop at the first of the year after the holiday season and have them checked out. New guides installed and a valve job. I will be more than happy to setup a dial indicator showing how much the valves move back and forth. No one has used these since you sold them. Wether your machinist didnt tell you the condition of the guides the heads were misrepresented and cannot be used as is. Are you willing to stand behind your sale ?

Hey man. The user name is the same as on corvette forums. Anyhow, the springs are 986-16 and the retainers are 740-16. Those are both Comp Cams part numbers. Hope this helps.

As a reply to your personal message, yes these are the heads you had rebuilt. This one I have not yet cleaned all the oil soaked carbon out of the exhaust ports or remove the head gasket material. They have never been installed or ran since sold. The damage to the guides are obvious, and knurling wow what a bad garage fix. I will never recommend anyone doing business with you sir. I guess the only thing fresh about these heads are they were resurfaced. It would be one thing if I damaged the heads but I paid more than a fair price for them and right now they are unusable. As you can see my MRI, I'm jacked up . I just got the drs restrictions moved up to lifting 20lbs.

This was caused because some a hole was txting and rear ended me on a freeway off ramp for 55mph.
2 years in bed and four surgeries later.

Also, you didn't buy the heads from me, so stop saying you paid good money for them. I don't have a single dollar of yours.

FYI, this is the exact opposite way to handle any sort of this situation.

And by the way, that's an X-ray, not an MRI.

 

I'd also like to point out that the combustion chambers on my pictures don't have any carbon, whereas your pictures appear to have some sort of carbon buildup.

Anyways, I'm not crying just upset your not making a deal right. I'm just asking for some assistance with repair after the holidays. I didn't think that was asking to much. You got paid good money for these. I didn't have the funds at the time. I saved up and purchased them from Joey. He spun a rod bearing and never installed the heads. So I'm not sure what carbon your referring to but your answer is clear you won't stand behind what you sell. They were misrepresented or your machine shop pulled one over on you.

You are right, not quite scrap.

If tuned felt like being a shady *** rat he could sell them to some 19 year old whose just trying to get his first build together.

 

HeY?! ^ not cool, trying to build on a budget then getting kicked while your down isnt right, i had a machine shop do mine, and he pulled a fast one on me i had to take em to a second shop, and tuned, just made himself look like an idiot, cool, this is like highschool bulls**t kid drama all over again.

 

TunedPerformance, if you bought these heads from your good friend 88FormulaF_Bomb after they sat on a shelf in his garage for 11 months, I would think you had time to inspect them before purchasing. If you chose to buy them without inspecting, you assume the risk.

88FormulaF_Bomb, had you inspected the heads when you received them or within a reasonable time period you could cry foul and pursue some recourse if they did not meet your expectations. Eleven months after the sale is not a reasonable time period for an initial inspection.

Time to take the high road and write off the loss as a learning experience. Always inspect what you buy.
