Well the unfortunate truth is the 3rd gen population locally here is cheap and this car will probably get crushed.

May just be poor timing. Tax time is coming, so either people owe or haven't received their refund yet. Pass smog the last time it was registered?
Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes $1100
It passed last time it was run thru. I have not put it through in a few years as I always have collector car insurance. Its not bad timing, people in this state think they can buy a $500 pos car and restore it for another $500.

I'm interested in the whole thing, just would need to get someone to tow it down to Tucson. Reason I ask about smog is its every year in Tucson, idle and on the rollers. Few quick questions, does it have the dual radiator fans and what gears are in the rear? Thank you for your time.

Can't believe this is still available.
If I had the garage space I'd pick it up. I'd love to have that L98 as a base for a build.

Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes $1100
All I get local is "will you give me X part for basically free, I cant seen to find parts anywhere"
At this point I might actually enjoy taking a sledgehammer to the car or watching it be crushed.
Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes $1100
Does the roller have a title? Curious why it was parted. Any idea how many miles are on the drivetrain?

Such a screaming deal - if you were within a day's drive of me (& I've gotten to Chicago before in a day) it would be mine. Why nobody out there is grabbing this simply boggles the mind.

I would love to have this! Many of the body parts could help me finish up my 1990 IROC and the entire drivetrain could go into the project car I am starting for my 12 year old son. How much would it cost to ship something like this to PA??

You're looking at 800-1500 for shipping a car.

Wonder what it would cost to ship the engine, transmission, and rear to me. I would love to have that drivetrain.
Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes $1100
Not much less than the whole car by the time you palletize it all.
I have had my fill of local cheap *** buyer. Last offer I received "can I have all the ground effects $80"
There are few if any of these cars left in the salvage yards with good parts and few vendors willing to produce new parts that work.
It is sad to see the 3rd gen wither and die. The days of plentiful cheap parts are gone.Even when you offer good deals and people just want it for free.
Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes CLOSED Crush
And what's the scrap value? $80?
It kind of goes both ways. Sellers think that what they have is gold, buyers don't want to pay more than they have to. Unfortunately the worst case scenario is usually how these things work out, a few parts get sold and the bulk goes to scrap, usually bypassing the junkyard where the parts can still be salvaged.
I kicked the idea around a bit, but my cost to move a car that far would exceed the asking price. Worse yet, a parts car with a title can too easily become another project. It's just too bad that something a bunch of us could get some good out of has to get thrown away.

Your right it does go both ways. I offered the parts at well below market prices and everyone wanted to lowball beyond that. Third gen owners unfortunately will be the ruin of these cars, shame too, I have had third gens since they were on the showroom floor. I'll stick to GN and TTA stuff. Not all third gen guys are cheap but too many of the new guys think they can build these for nothing.
Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes CLOSED Crush
I understand the frustration. I've ended up with more than one half parted-out thirdgen because the big ticket parts were sold, and no one wanted the rest. To keep the good parts from being scrapped... Years later plenty of the parts are still sitting around taking up space. Trying to sell anything is an open invitation for Cletus to send in mind numbingly dumb requests. Had a front bumper cover listed, had the previous owner's novelty confederate flag license plate on it. Plate was cheap corny plastic, the printed image was sun faded, scratched, and generally ready for the garbage can, but guess what part got the most interest on Craigslist?
Just looking at this thread there are plenty of people who'd be interested in what you're offering, but the distance is an issue. Your asking price is fair, but when a person has to factor in the shipping it adds up fast. Would you spend $2,000 on a parts car? Knowing that plenty parts will be left over, and they'd either be in the way, or you'd have to resell them, etc...
Do what you gotta do, but no one wins if everyone just crushes the cars.

I definitely would not expect or want someone to ship this car and even the parts are too expensive for most people to want to ship.
Its unfortunate that most of the 3rd gen owners that seem to have love left for these cars are back east, Az has very few.

That's unnecessary and wholly inaccurate in this case.
He offered it, at a ridiculously affordable price, NOBODY stepped up! I considered it, and some of us even discussed it at length - but I need another project or parts car like I need another hole in my head so I passed.
You cannot fault somebody for trying and honestly, economics rule. I've parted a RA IV 69 GTO and TWO 1971 455HO GTO's in my past because nobody wanted the complete projects and they were worth more apart. I also parted then junked a 70 LeMans Sport Convertible for the same reasons.
DON'T fault a man for trying - if you're so sentimental about it, you should have stepped up from the start!

He did offer it at a great price. Cant believe it didn't get scooped up for that price. I wish I would have been closer.
Re: 92 B4C/1LE 1/27 Complete drivetrain in rolling chassis w/ 1LE Brakes CLOSED Crush
I had a buddy with a trailer all set to go get it, but honestly the gas and hassle was more than what I wanted to put into a parts car. What I need is a short list at this point, and something like that would be more in the way than anything else.
Came across a semi-local 89 Formula 350, T-top car this weekend for a song. But again, it's too nice for a parts car, and it'd be a pain. Great car for someone looking for a car worth restoring...
Need to sell my Mustang. I'll probably end up junking it because of rust and picky buyers. It could be saved, but a person would have to be passionate about the project. Same deal...
