[NJ] 406 SBC complete - bowtie block, AFR heads, miniram
Ran this motor in my 91 Firebird. Motor has about 50 passes on it and about 200 street miles. When on the street, it was run on 93 octane, at the track it was on VP110.
Bowtie block "1184" - 4 bolt non-splayed with 1 piece rear main seal adapter
AFR 210 (pre-eliminator) race ready heads. Springs changed 25 passes ago. Titanium retainers
Lunati forged Crank
Lunati 6.0" rods
JE Pistons - 11.7:1 4cc dome (originally was 8 but fly cut for valve relief)
Cloyes timing chain and cover
ATI Superdampner
CSR 153t flexplate
Moroso 6qt pan (fits stock k-member in fbody), moroso oil pump
TPIS miniram (material added to mate to 1206 intake gasket)
Edelbrock 1000cfm throttle body
66lb/hr Holley injectors (20 passes on them, no street miles)
Comp Cams solid roller cam 248/248 (cam card below)
Crane Gold Rockers and AFR stud girdle
Moroso Valve covers
Originally built by Truppi-Kling Performance in Green Brook, NJ
Freshened (heads, cam, pistons) by Dan Smith of DNS Performance in Camden NJ.
Best run in 3200lb car - 10.74 @ 127
Was run with Holley EFI. Can give the tune file with the engine.
Would make great street motor or bracket engine.
Asking $5500 or best offer

This would make a good blueprint for you. In full street trim (with working AC) the car ran 11.60's

Re: 406 SBC complete - bowtie block
Thanks. I originally was going to put AFR 220's on it and a bigger cam and try to go 9's but another SBC deal came up and I bought that instead.

I would be interested in short/long block. Are the heads milled? What CC Are they?

Would consider splitting if deal on both came up.
heads are not milled and are 67cc chambers.

Man, that is a nice setup. Very tempting. How much power did you make?

Re: [NJ] 406 SBC complete - bowtie block, AFR heads, miniram
By the calculators given the weight and mph, it was around 515-525.
My original plan was to go with a larger cam and a set of AFR 220s and try to hit 9.99 with it. I ended up finding a good deal on a 434 so I am selling this one.
Its ts a solid foundation to run as is, or swap parts to go faster.

Would sell the long block for $4500 since I have several offers on the table for the intake

I even have video of it and the time slips to back up the numbers.
if I didn’t purchase another engine, this would be in the car as we speak running pro e.t.

I’m interested. It’s more motor than I need, but the 406 in my Buick is dying. Let me talk to the wife about it. Would you be willing to meet part way....I live in central PA (north of Harrisburg)?

If I could line up a buyer for the long block, I would sell the intake/injectors and throttle body
