Im just currious whats the difference between a stock 350 and an lt1. I have a carb 350 would I be able to drop in an LT1 and keep my carb or is it some type of engine that needs EFI? I searched everywhere couldnt find just what i was looking for

Pretty much the last and best of the small block Chevy engine. Be hard to convert to a carb with the non-standard ignition system. Good powerplant if you can do the changeover, but not an easy job.

they make carbed LT1 manifolds so you can keep a carb but LT1's are great fuel injection motors
they have good flowing intakes and decent flowing stock heads...few cars that have reached 11's on stock heads with big cams.
heads can be ported out alot to gain nearly 300cfm of flow. LE3 heads i think flow upwards of 29x CFM...that will make some power!

i would say no....if not an EFI motor, then its basically a GEN I motor..and i'd stick with the GEN I

Well you have a reverse flow water pump, roller cam, and very good vortec aluminum heads to start with. With a carb and ignition all dialed in you'd have some over 300 hp in a nice street driver. But might not be worth the cost after all is done.
