I just bought an 88 camaro rs with a 305 i am planning on boring out the block putting a vodoo cam in, having the heads rebuilt a new intake manifold and throttle body and headers.....i would like to get 350 to 400 horse power out of a 305 if anyone knows what parts i should get or what works best with what i would really appreciate the help if anyone has got that much power out of their 305 i would like to know what they did also

 

not to sound like a hater on the 305's but if you want some good power go with a 350,ive owned two 305s before and they were fine but i decided to upgrade to a 350 and havent been disappointed

 

i have a sbc 400 with forged speedpro flat top pistons with less than 10k on rebuild that i want 500 for the short block, have a pic if you want it.

 

i would go with a 350 but at the moment i ave two 305 sitting in my garage one is from and iroc-z that i used to own and the other is from my rs that i am currently building i was wanting to wait on putting a 350 in until i get more money and a stronger tranny in about a year.

 

i am wondering about your small block what does it come with

 

just so u know the 700r4 trans is the same in both the 305 and the 350
