Tpi oil dipstick needed!

Hi,I am in need of the oil dipstick and tube for my 87 gta.Heck ill even settle for information on where i can buy a new one.Mr gasket has a 82-85 tube but its different than mine i believe it falls short of going through the stock windage tray.

Please if you have one pm me with price shipped to 64118.It dont have to be pretty just not rusted out.Thank you so much!

edit: its a l98 tpi 5.7

Re: Tpi oil dipstick needed!

I have one that is in GREAT condition. The Tube is only about 6 years old, I bought a NOS one in 2004 when I did my engine swap. The stick is stock from 1989.

Check out the link for pictures.

Re: Tpi oil dipstick needed!

I don't think that's the right one.On my dipstick it is longer than that on the end where it goes in the block. After the lip that rests against the block my stock one is longer than that by the looks anyhow.I do believe that's 82-86..?
For some reason mine is longer at that point and if i try and use a shorter one the dipstick itself wont go past the windage tray in the oil pan. This is really odd that some of these dipsticks are different from nearly the exact same engines.I think maybe there are different revisions of the oil pan perhaps.Ill measure mine and post the length after the bump where it seats against the block.I just bought one from a guy on this site but im still not sure if its correct.Ill let you know.BTW thank you!

Re: Tpi oil dipstick needed!

If yours is an F-body L98, Roller block/one piece rear main, the dip stick/tube I have is the correct one.

It may look short in the picture I took but it is the right one.
