[MA] WTB: Brass Blocks / Fittings for 1985 Rear Calipers to accept line or hoses
WTB: Brass Blocks / Fittings for 1985 Rear Calipers to accept line or hoses
If you have these please email me directly at
sfaboston (at) hotmail.com
I am looking for a total of 3 (or more if you have them) of the brass blocks and the accompanying hollow banjo bolts that fit a 1985 style cast iron caliper.
I need the blocks that bolt to the caliper and will accept either a steel line or a hose.
I likely will run hard lines on the rears, setting two up now.
Please let me know what you have. Ok if dirty etc, as long as straight, good threads etc.
Regards, Tim

That's all stuff you can find at any auto parts store. Get the hose with the banjo fitting on the end so you can pull your caliper off easily. Weld some tabs on your housing where the hose and hardline with U clips come together. Hardline all the way sucks to deal with. Go to autozone parts lookup.

We have been to several parts stores, no one has the two piece hoses, ones that screw into the brass block fitting. We likely will do hard lines. I can see where the hardline can suck for popping calipers off, but I will leave some flexibility there, who knows may still use hose, we shall see.
The axle, not sure you have seen it...it is all done, definitely not welding anything else on it, however if we do go with hoses I have stainless bolts in place to bolt on the hose clips/brackets.
Thanks for posting Scoflaw, this is stuff I will think about - I appreciate the input.

my dad was able to locate hoses, e brake cables, center hoses on rock auto and ordered it all up, all the local parts stores would have say one hose, but not the other....we need two complete set ups so glad we were able to find it, thanks again for your direction on the hoses vs hard lines
