Swapped the rear end, speedometer is off, help

Swapped my stock 87 trans am rear end (2.73) to a Camaro SS 3.42 rear end, love the results. transmission is the700R4. My speedometer is obviously off now, about 15/20 miles/hour higher than normal.

This car has an electric speed sensor in the car, any idea on where I can get the correct speed sensor to fix this issue?

Thanks!

Tires are stock.

that's fine you have VSS or vehicle speed sensor. but there is still a gear inside that spins that and that's the gear you change to correct the speedo hope this helps

You are going to need to change all 3 pieces,....

Your originally 2.73 geared car 'should' have a 17 tooth RED DRIVE gear and a 39 tooth DRIVEN gear...... and a VSS that's good for 39 tooth and lower gears.

You will need:

a 15 tooth GREY DRIVE Gear ( cable and electric use the same DRIVE gear )
A Electric VSS 41 tooth DRIVEN Gear
A 40-45 tooth Electric VSS

Here's a picture of the VSS and the tooth range that will fit properly on this sending unit:

I've got the correct eleceric VSS and the proper Yellow 41 tooth Driven gear you need; $90 shipped. ( Sorry - I don't have the Grey gear, but at least that one is pretty easy to find. ) Send me a PM for more info if your seriously interested.
