Re: Need an EGR solenoid

Here is an option. See this and other various threads on how to remedy this.

I have an '86 EGR solenoid I don't need either. How would I test it to be sure it's still working before I send it to you?
(I have a complete '86 TPI set up that I took off to switch intakes. So can't test it on the car anymore.)

Re: Need an EGR solenoid

Just take it out and apply 9V to it from 1 terminal to the middle terminal. It should click, then do the other outer terminal. You can blow through the port at 1 position then it should close on the other.
The lonely port on the back is the VENT.

I found a solenoid and have it on it's way but just discovered I do need an EGR valve after all. the one I have does NOT have the hole for the EGR temperature switch in it.

Do you happen to have an EGR valve with this opening and the switch that screws into it? You would be a lifesaver...

EDIT: I found them locally, thanks..
