Im having a hard time finding an engine for my 305 to 350 swap. Most engines are either too old (70’s) or in rough shape. I could find a truck engine but if im going to spend the money id like to try to find an L98 out of a third gen which seems to be impossible around here. Dont care what intake is on it because I plan on reusing my TPI set up.

 

Real L98's are few and far between in these parts, especially if you want a corvette one with the aluminum heads. I was looking for one for a while cause I wanted a different motor to build than the original one for the car. One option(which is what I'm doing) is to find a roller cam TBI truck motor, rebuild the bottom end according to your budget, and throw some aftermarket aluminum heads on it. The last aluminum head L98 I saw on Craigslist was in Baltimore a few months back and the guy wanted 1000 for it. Just looked, I knew I'd seen one recently. There's a guy in the Poconos selling a Camaro L98 with trans for 850. But if you don't need the intake or trans, it's really not close enough to you to be worthwhile...

 

I'm sure Wisconsin is too far away for you but in about a month I'll have out my stock l98 and 700r4 from my 1988 camaro.
