there isn’t anything special about an LT1 cam.

just buy the cam that best fits your engine combo and intended usage.

HSR is a mid to high end intake. So you are best with a cam that lives well in the 2000-6000rpm range.

depending on your combo something that peaks around 5000-5500 is probably best for a street car power band.

intake duration should probably be kept in the 215-225* @.050 lift on a 112-116* lsa.

so many variables to work though.

Re: LT! cam

Basically. Before ANYONE can recommend a cam, we need to know in exact detail exactly what parts you have, intend on purchasing, how much money you are willing to spend, and what you REALLY want out of the car.

I have a built LT1 with a fairly aggressive cam, but not the MOST aggressive cam you can run on the street. Its a rocket ship when you are flat to the floor, but absolutely terrible at anything less than 2500rpm. Gutless is the word I'd use. If someone told me I had to keep it under 3000rpm, I'd lose to a 305 TBI car in a drag race.

Re: LT! cam

I like the #049 GM L98 cam better. More duration 207-213.. Less lift at 415-431 but id take it over the LT1 cam.
