I have a 1982 Z/28 and have a stock 7 1/2 inch diff and need a 9 inch Ford or GM12 bolt etc. COMPLETE.
I need brakes fitted and Emergency brake as this is a registered road car and we require a park brake and i wont go into detail. ITS law here like it or not.
I am looking at 3.25:1 but if i need a gear change i can do it.
I have a transport company in L.A ready to ship it to me once i get it to them.
28 or 31 spline no problem.
i can go stock 1982 camaro width or 1 inch each side shorter ,,no more

Ever thought to use a 98-02 LS1 car rear end? The t56 cars came with 3.42 gears. The rear brakes are a great upgrade. 45mm piston aluminum PBR castings. Only thing is you need the parking brake cable kit.

thank you for reply
i am in australia and whatever way i go its an import job
what needs to be done to get an Ls 1 diff in the car as far as torque rod setup and locating points to bolt it in.
these LS diffs are an option.
the 9 inch is the best as it will put the sale price of the car up also.

AussieSteve , the entire rear is 100% bolt in. Only mods needed would be the parking brake cable kit I mentioned. Hawksthirdgen sells the kit. The kit is probably the only thing you'll be buying from overseas. I'm sure someone down under has wrecked their LS1 4th gen or swapped out to an aftermarket rear. Also, another option tho its more work is getting a ford 8.8 from a 2004ish exploder. If you're able to fab and weld. They make the bracket kits for bolting in or you can cut them off your existing rear end. I'd go with the kit so you have a back up rear end so you can maybe beef it up and keep as a good spare. I'm still using a factory 10 bolt in mine 98 WS6 that is modded pretty good. I have the LS6 top end and bolt ons with goodies running thru LS7 factory clutch and Auburn diff with motive 4.10s. I'm making just under 400whp and has lasted over 80k miles so far. So if you find a LS1 10 bolt, adding an Auburn diff will most definitely last in a 3rd making what i make.
