Car: 89 FORMULA 350 / 1991 RX7
Engine: 5.7 L98 / LT1
Transmission: 700R4 / 6 speed manual
Axle/Gears: 3.42 posi / 4.11 posi
carbed lt1

ok i have all ready done the search and came up with no direct anserws. i know you can carb one of these engines . my 1st question is will a HEI distruber work with the gen 2 sbc? 2nd question on the gm lt1 intake the picture does't look like it has a thermostat housing does it ?3rd for anyone who has put this engine in there car . what kind of numbers did you get out of it ? thanks in advance for all the great info

Direct answer: yes.

The thermostat is on top of the water pump. Not on the intake

To help you save money: you can have old school carb intakes redrilled to work on the LT1. This guy has the experiance to do it www.lt1intake.com New intake holes have to be drilled. Unless you use LT4 heads, the LT1 intake ports are the same as Gen1 SBC's
