Why doesn't my speedometer work?

Car: 1990 Chevrolet Camaro RS
Engine: 350 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Why doesn't my speedometer work?
I made the tbi to tpi swap in my signature, everything went fine except that my speedometer does not work. I have a 700R4 and my VSS has an electronic speedometer. I was told that the pulses are different in a TBI VSS and a TPI VSS. Does anybody know what I need to do? GM shows one VSS for a 1990 camaro? has anybody else had this problem in their swap?

I had the same problem when I done my T56 swap.You need to get a VSS Buffer from Dakota Digital($85) that will allow you to change the ppm.I had a local speedo shop install it for $35,end of problem.......later

what if the vehicle already has a buffer box??and i though tpi cars dont have a buffer box and tbi cars do??i know there are a couple of vss sensors between 90-92 so that might be it

Forgot to mention...
Some have a different color to the speedo
Blk is ground
Lt Grn/Blk is to speedo
Red is to cruise
Brn is to ECM
Pnk/Blk is 12v IGN
Some have a different color to the speedo
