Crate 350-305 swap?
I know this topic has come up several times in the message board but I thought I'd try and get an opinion for my particular situation. I've got a 91 Z28 convertable. All the convertables (as far as I know) came with the 305. The car is a blast and the engine runs great with perfect idle and no oil leakage, but as she as 130k miles on her, I can forsee imminent probs. So I'm considering swapping in a Crate 300hp 350 engine.
Anyone ever made this marriage before or known someone who has? and what they think of it?
I'm not a complete gear head and am not concerned with lap times or tricky engine mods. The only mods I have are functional ram air, and custom flowmaster exhaust. I just want an engine that will get up and go and make driving my Z28 more fun.
All opinions appreciated.
Keep motoring.

Most parts from the 305 can be changed over to the 350, however; you will need 22# fuel injectors, a 350 chip and different senors to make it work. A lot of info on this subject so do a search. Otherwise it is a easy swap and all the major componets mate up.

Your opinions
Thanks guys.....Everything you have said jives with what I'm hearing from Crate motors; bigger injectors, fuel pump, and chip.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.

Fuel pump should be fine, maybe get a pressure regulator and bump up the pressure from stcok 39# to 44#. Keep adjusting in 1 lb increments. Also, try the 24# injectors and you will definately need a new chip. Don't go hypertech
