'88 IROC-Z 305 TBI. Engine Swap, Which Motor to use?
I own a 1988 IROC-Z 305 T.B.I Automatic.
I want to do an Engine conversion this summer casue the 305 TBI is slow, its not bad, but for a camaro its slow.
I was thinking a newer camaro SS Engine but I dont want to get into modifiy engine mounts & **** like that. I am also thinking of 350 T.P.I Swap out of an 89 or newer camaro.
I basically want an engine I can easilly get my hands on that has lots of power and isnt expensive & not hard to install...

Look for a late truck long block...
(vortec) add a late model cam and you should be close...
most things will bolt up to the stock locations
It will respond to tuning, manifold
And have a certain "sleeper quality" that will
errr um enhance your errr um street "earning power"
Only cognisati looking very closely will spot more than
headers....
I think you can talk most anybody into a rolling start
the first week anyway :-)
