Few Specific Questions about BBC swap
My main concern about a big block swap is passing emissions tests. In texas they are supposed to start the "sniffer" testing again next year
but heres a few questions I've thought of.
1.) Where do the Hooker headers interfere with the subframe? I am under the impression that they hit the subframe on their way to exit on the outside of the subframe. If that is the case, couldn't I just run some tubing straight back along the subframe and exit through the ground effects in front of the rear wheels?
2.) Will the holley injection or the ram-whatever efi kits in jeg's and summit pass emissions tests? I am thinking of either going carb or one of those.
3.) Is Hooker the only company making a header for the BBC in a 3rd gen, and is the subframe interference the only complaint about them?
4.) What about hood clearance? Would I need to run a cowl hood, or something with more clearance?
Thats all I could think of...for now, but I'm sure there will be plenty more questions!
Thanks,
Cale

1) Several places. It's listed on my page.
2) Don't know, but I doubt it.
3) Nope, just the cheapest ~370. Nope, it's on my page.
4) Yes unless you run a low rise intake and a flat style filter. There is a stack up drawing of my setup on my page.
Again, most of the information needed for a BBC & T400 swap is on my page already.

Hitting the SFC will depend on who's SFC you use. From pics I've seen, there a few that connect along the rocker panels. My headers exit right where the SFC should connect. I don't know if there would be any interference but it would be very close.
My custom SFC join more to the subframe close to the tranny crossmember so I have no problems.
