Wher can I rent a Cherry picker???

I am just about ready to swap engines, got everything disconnected from both cars, now all I need is a picker to get the blocks out. I don't have enough cash left to buy one and I heard people telling me you can rent them. If anybody knows of any general places I can look for one please let me know ASAP.

Thanks,
-Max

Best bet is to call your parts stores and find out who rents em. Look in the phone book and call the places that rent equipment. I will tell you that it is expensive. I've only rented one time and then decided I might as well buy one the next time, which I did. Everywhere I've talked to, it costs about $30 a day. If you rent on a Friday (most common time) they make you pay for three days. That's $90. I was able to buy my cherry picker for $140 from Tractor Supply Company. All the other parts stores had them for between $160-$200. If you are ever going to do this more than once, or if you run into a problem you might as well go ahead and buy a cherry picker and enjoy your new toy.

I agree with mcconahay37. You'll probably be better buying one for the cost of renting them

Harbor Freight also has decent deals on new hoists.

I've rented several times from your typical rental store. I'd have everything ready to go, pick up the hoist just before closing time, pull the engine, take it back the next morning when they first opened, and they only charged 1/2 day ($15-20). Then, when it was ready to go back in, do the same thing.

Last two times, I borrowed one from a buddy. Much cheaper.
