I own an '88 173cid Camaro and I'm on the verge of buying a carbed bb 350 but I need a little advice. Will my new engine need a whole new computer; will it need a computer at all? Will I be able to use the existing computer? What parts of my car will I have to upgrade to handle this new engine? I new at this whole engine swap business so I need a help getting it just right. If any one can give my some basic pointers on engine swapping it would be greatly appreciated.

A 350 isnt a big block, its a small block. I guess its big compared to your V6, but many thirdgens have 305's and 350's, which are an easy fit.

Some of this depends on whats controlling the engine you are getting. If its a computer controlled carb, it would be easiest to get that computer and wiring harness and use it. I'm guessing its not computer controlled, so yours wont be needed. You'd also be best advised to get the tranny from the donor car/engine setup.

More info on the setup youre planning on getting would be helpful. I also hope you have someone that can help you out since youve never done this before, or lots of money to throw at a shop.
