Getting 383 built at cost !!!

Dropped it off and finalized the plans today to get the ball rolling

I found a great "connection" a friend of mine builds engines part time. He is buidling me a 383 at his cost, in 3 weeks or under. at this time I forget all the exact particulars we chose, we were planning it out for like an hour. but it should be putting out like 400hp maybe a lil more he said.

so I cannot wait, this thing will be great, its gonna be 383 with the LT1 intake on it.

hehe

yea my project started out as buying a crate 350. Something cheap that was better then my L03. Then I decided instead on getting a used block and building a better 350. Then I decided I wanted a brand new block, so I ordered one. Then I started looking for cranks, and found that a 3.75" crank (for a 377,383,388 depending on bore size) cost the same as a standard 3.48" stroke crank that a 350 uses. So I'm ready to buy it and decided that a forged crank would be a better plan for the future. So I order my forged steel stroker crank. I still wanted to keep it simple so I bought a set of Speed Pro flat toppers and some eagle H-beam rods. The I wanted a lighter piston and something stronger so I had a set of JE pistons custom made to work with what I had. Then it was time to buy heads. I went to the performance store where my friend works to buy a set of Vortec heads and walked out with a set of bare Victor Jr. race heads. Then I needed a cam so I ditched my idea of a Hot cam and got a very very big custom ground Comp Cams hyd. roller magnum cam kit and some not so cheap Comp Cam's magnum rull roller rocker arms. Needed an oil pan so I buy a Canton road race 7 qt oil pan with 3 trap doors and a crank scraper. I originally bought a Performer RPM air gap manifold and a Edelbrock 750 carb which later were traded in for a Victor Jr. manifold and a Demon Speed Demon 750 mechanical carb.

Some cheap crate engine. I don't have any time to put it together myself and didn't have the equipment to balance the assembly and clearance the block so I sent it off to a performance shop and paid them to put it together and dyno it. It's been there for a month now because of all the changes I keep making.

Went from a 300 HP replacement engine to a stroked aluminum headed 600hp freak show.

Don't follow my lead, it's expensive.
