Blazer I6 in Firebird

What do you guys think about swapping the new I6 into an F-body? Aside from it being ridiculously hard I mean. I was also thinking about putting a turbo on it. How cool would that be? Supra my ***!

That engine is pretty big. Its long and tall. Not sure it would fit under the hood.

It fits in a midsized SUV, it bolts to a 4L60E trans. It only displaces 4.2 L. I think it could fit, but I agree that it would definately be tight. All aluminum, varialbe exhaust valve timing. Very nice. You could also put a 4L80E behind there if you started making serious power. Probably have to reinforce the bottom end so the crank doesn't fly out. It'd definately be fun.

Well I saw one at the auto show sitting next to an LS1. Considerably differently shaped animal. I guess you could try.

There was a post like this awhile back and I think we determined hat the installed height would not fit under a 3rd gen hood.

yeah... i remember reading a post just like this. I think it would probably be too long and tall and not worth the agrivation of trying. I think it would be comprable to adding two more cyl. on each side to a sbc and the space up in front of the engine aint that mcuh to begin with
