93 blazer 350 vortech
Well I just ruined my heads on my 305 TBI and thought its time to just get a new engine and because I don't have 3 grand laying around to just buy a new crate engine I thought I'd look for a used one. I did search to see if there was anyone that did a similar swap. And only found people wanting to beef up there 91 or 95 blazer with swirl port heads. Well I could not find what kind of horsepower this engine will make and I would like to know what I have to do to make the injection system and sensors work with mine. I belive it is a 350 TBI. Any help would be aprciated. The engine is for 400 OBO with headers. 89k on it. it will be going into my 305 TBI 5 speed firebird.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes

A 93 truck won't have Vortec heads, unless somebody came along and put them there. Those heads were introduced in 96.
93 will have swirl-port.
Facts don't seem to get in the way very much when people start writing creative ad copy for used cars and car parts.
A 350 TBI will run about the same as your 305, it'll just be about 15% more of it. You shouldn't have to do much of anything at all to it, for it to at least work. Although, it would run better with some chip work.
I have no clue whether that's a good price of not. I personally wouldn't be interested in one of those motors even for free. But that's just me, obviously your situation is a bit different from mine.

It would be more than my sad 170 HP I assume. Would it be able to accept an lt1 cam?

Vortech = mfr of superchargers
Vortec = Chevrolet heads with raised intake ports
Vtech = ??
Yeah, a little too much enthusiastic ad copy writing, with too little fact behind it.
The motor itself looks like yerbasic truck TBI motor. Probably out of a van, judging by the oil dipstick.
If so, it was "rated" at 210 HP from the factory.
It will accept any of the several LT1 cams; but only if you have all of the factory roller apparatus to go with it. Most likely, it has the provisions cast into the block for the roller stuff, but it isn't drilled & tapped for the spider, and it doesn't have the spider or the roller lifters. You could probably get all of that out of your 305, and put that and the LT1 cam (whichever one it is.... I hope it's not a B-body one) into it.
Definitely check the block casting number and make sure it's a 350 BEFORE you hand over your $$$$, if that's important to you. Print this page and take it with you. www.mortec.com/castnum.htm
