LT1 in 1998 camaroz28?

Could an lt1 have came in a 1998 camaro from the factory?
Some guy was saying that since it was the first year of the new style that both engines were used? Ipersonally don't think this true.

you are correct. chevrolet discontinued the use of the lt1 in 98 for the f-bodies. It would be quite costly for them to produce a car that had 2 different engines being that most of the cost would occur during the assembly when you have to swap mounts and all the other brackets every time a different build sheet ends up in your lap.

Yup and they even went to the trouble of redesigning the front end to fit the taller LS1. It just wouldnt be cost effective.
