Where can I find a 350 to swap? Or what would it take to make my 305 a 350? Do I need a different ECM? I also want to keep it TPI, plan on going with a Big Mouth Base and AS&M large tube runners. I am also going with a fairly streetable head and cam combo. My have Edelbrock headers and Borla catback on my 305 now. Any help would be appreciated, (and yes I have read many, many old posts)

 

There must be at least a half-dozen places in Wichita that sell rebuilt 350s. Plus those that sell used. Then the classifieds in your local paper. The classifieds on this board. I saw a 350 short block at the Super Chevy swap meet last weekend for $75 (didn't get it myself, was a later type that didn't have the fuel pump rod hole - would have worked fine for you).

I haven't heard glowing reports on tricking-out the '85 TPI system. A simple mild 350 swap under your TPI would be one thing, but the plans you seem to have would probably overwhelm that system. Upgrading to a later system and getting PROM burning equipment would seem to be in order. TPI forum is the right place to ask about those things.

Oh, you can't "make" a 305 into a 350. Identical on the outside, completely different (except for crank) on the inside.
