Swapping the 350 for a 305!
Just temporarily while the 350 gets rebuilt. This car is my driver so I can only have it down for the weekend. Here's my situation:
I have bought a 305 TPI out of a 1990 firebird. It was going to be the engine for a guy's street rod. He pulled it out of a rear-end total with 17,000 orig miles. Every bracket, pulley, etc is there and every connector was disconnected- nothing was hacked. The engine is complete with the computer.
I want to stab it in my 91 Z28 5.7 TPI car while the 5.7 is being rebuilt. What problems will I encounter? If I'm thinking correctly, it should basically "plug-in". Does the computer need to be changed?
By the way- what is the HP rating on the 305? I think I'll miss the extra 45 cubes...
