l69 to lt1 or ls1 or ls6
how hard would it be for me to put a ls1 or ls6 or lt1 in my 84 z i have a l69 rite now. what would i have to change. also i have a t-5 should i go to a t56 or what
How hard it will be for you specifically to do the swap really depends on how skilled or experienced you are.
If you go LS1/LS6, you'll need a new trans...your old T-5 trans won't bolt up to the engine bellhousing and the input shaft length is incorrect. If you go LT1 the T-5 may work, but longevity under the higher hp/torque it generates may be a problem.
Whether you go LS1 or LT1 you have wiring work, or $$ to spend buying a modified wiring harness. You also have fuel line adaptation to do.
If you go LS1 you have engine mounts to swap, an alternator interference issue w/ the crossmember brace, etc.
