i want to put a chevy 350 in my 82 T/A. How hard will it be? ill probably have to change out the automatic transmission any suggestions on the replacement? and should i pull the computer or install one from a camaro what else will i need to change out oh i have a 305 carb in it now id like to go to Fuel Injection but can I any other things i should know or look out for?

 

Uhmm... should be real easy. Your TA should have a 305 in it now, externally its the same as a 350. It'll bolt right in.

Check the carb board for info on carb tweaking. Not hard to do.

Its a chevy engine in the car now.

 

Every Firebird from 82 up is Chevy powered.

 

The Cehvy/Pontiac difference between engines died in the late 70's/early 80's I believe.
The third Gens all have the same engines whether they are pontiac or chevy

 

ok so a 350 will slide in will i have to do anything with the computer or should i take it out all together? whats the best fuel injection? also i want to keep the car an automatic transmission what the best for drag racing basiclly im making a street legal super sleeper 10 sec car if its possible if not i want to take off the street legal part first because this wont be a daily driver also with a 350 whats the best setup for it meaning headers and cams and others like that
