donnovan block main caps

i'm planning on buying a donnovan block but it doesent have any main caps should it be fine with some after market billet steel caps or should i try to find some aluminum caps for it. i'd think that it would matter due to the diffrent expansion temps but i just wanted some more info on how what you guys know about this.

i'd think you'd want caps to match the block. steel aftermarket caps might not even fit, either way you'd want the main bore checked and maybe honed.

Donovan blocks come with billet main caps. They are $400 for the set from Donovan

If you are really interested, I have a very wounded Donovan A500 (638") with excellent main caps for sale. But make sure you know what you are getting into
