I put in this rebuilt 305 in my car and now I'm saving for a 350 or 400. If I swap them I'll have a perfectly good engine sitting around. What do you think it might be worth?

I'd give you a ballpark estimate of 50 cents. I'll give you a dollar shipped to NJ. Sorry, but there just isnt enough demand for 305's to get any money out of them.

Yeah, but there's always some sucker out there!! Any "good" running motor-even none performance built are worth at least $100, hell some guy might have a old car or pick-up that fizzled a motor, and he'd probably be more than happy to buy it for the right price, just try to advertise it before you know it's coming out so they could at least hear it run.

how about just keeping it on a stand in ur garage in case your 350 ever (knock on wood) craps out on you and you're stuck ?
selling it isn't worth having a fully functional motor on standby ... you'd be better prepared than a lot of guys here =D

logikal has certainly earned his moniker. I agree with him that its always nice to have a safety just in case something craps out (which everything will eventually). Good call :hail:

I sold my high mileage 305 for around $250. I dont remember the exact number, but real close to that. Pan-valve covers, no intake, no accessories.

if my 305 ever crapps out, I'll probably keep it and put it in my jeep, that would be more than enough power for a jeep
