Old Style Heads VS New

I have a great rebuild 350, its a 1972 from a camero, I want to know what is the differents is between the old style heads and the new style, and if I can swap the older 72 350 into my 1989 bird and keep my TPI. Thanks for any help.

The difference is the angle of the 2 center intake bolt holes.

You can elongate those holes in your intake and use wedge washers, and it will bolt right up.

Your dipstick will not work, and the usual one for a 72 motor will not work if you have exhaust manifolds. The 72 model one will clear if you have headers.

You will need a 12¾" diameter flex plate. Get the one for a 82-85 305.

Other than those things, it's a drop-in.
