305 comp controlled carb to 350 no comp
305 comp controlled carb to 350 no comp
Allrite then,
I had the bad luck demon on my back for a while. I have an 87 firebird that had a 305 comp controlled carb and such. Well within a week my 700r4 died and so did the 305. Luck had it that I came across a 4 bolt 350 from an early 80's GM and a th350 tranny. The tranny had been rebuilt and is fine, some minor mods, but fine. The engine swap really tweaked my nads. So now the car is sitting because again life got in the way. What I want to know is whether or not I can remove the ECM, will that affect lights, power windows, power door locks etc. I can rewire the A/C as I have already converted it it to R134A. The cooling should not matter much, I put in an xtra cooling fan and wired both together. I am sorta lost here and would like to remove any unneccessary components in the engine compartment.
TIA
Rich

If you trace the ECM harness and split it from the rest where they join, you'll find you can take out that portion without affecting the wiring you do need. None of the things you mentioned would be affected.
