what would be a good price to rebuild my v8 4bbl 305ci engine? it has 126k miles on it, and it has an obviously lost most of it's power. would rebuilding the engine get the power back? also, what would be a good price to get it rebuilt? the guy that works on my car offered to do it for $800... is this a good deal?

 

i usually get 400 dollars to take one apart and put it back together. lot depends on what you get in to

 

i wanted to get head gaskets and valves all re-done. i'm pretty sure that i'm losing compression in my engine, so that's what i want done. How much would all that cost to do on my engine, including any other expenses that would be involved?
