LT1 Swap Question

I'm seriously thinking of doing an LT1 swap, my simple question is does a T-5 bolt up without modifications? I tried checking the board for similar questions but came up empty. Thank You!

Texas lt1 is running a t5. If its for a sbc it should work. Just make sure its for a sbc with a 1pc rear main seal. Good luck the motor is definately worth the work.

did someone call? Yup, T-5 bolts right up, no problems at all. I just reused my flywheel from the 305, LT1 flywheel is completely different. only problems I've had is I had to rebuild the trans last summer because my clutch went out and tore up the synchros.

Sounds great! I have a nice centerforce flywheel that was purchased when i swapped from the 700-r4 to the t-5. I'm glad, now its time to raise up money to buy a used LT-1, so i see you guys are happy customers with this swap, good to know. Thanks for the feedback.

my suggestion is to get a good clutch while you are at it, dont get some cheap stock replacement. after my second one in a year, I finally broke down and got a Centerforce DF, best damn decision yet. let us know if you have any questions, any one of us who have done the swap will be glad to help. just search the boards, there is tons of information on here from previous posts.

Thank You Texas LT-1, I figured once I buy one then save money, i want to get a new clutch, and definitely throw in a cam as well. Some quick thoughts, but first things first i need about $1800 bucks for a used one with computer and harness. At first i was really worried about the wiring but i read as long as time is taken and good diagrams are used then it shouldn't be too bad. I have a motor that had tons of mods from heads and cams to aftermarket runners, base and all. All i could pull for power was like 245 rwhp, and 330rw of torque. Looking in like GM-HIGH TECH PERFORMANCE, they have there car doing the same horsepower but less torque, and thats a stock motor. Lt-1's seem to have a really nice aftermarket selection, so why not give it a try. Again many thanks to your response.

My lt1 has a hot cam ,1.6 promagnum rrs, homeported heads, slp 1 3/4" headers and a flowmaster catback. I pulled 330 whp last week on a dynojet. I'm fighting tuning issues right now my timing is off and I'm running rich. When I get those issues taken care of I should be making in excess of 350 whp and as much torque. I do not even have a 52mm tb yet. i could ad an electric wp ( I already have one it not installed yet) some underdrive pulles ect.
You can make alot more power for less money with the lt1.
Do not use ed wright tuning. Get lt1 edit to get you started and then have it tuned on a dyno. I spent 350 dollars on an ed wright tune and it sucks.
Also get a 95 motor. it is still obd1 so you can use lt1 edit and it has the vented opti.
