whats up peeps...my brothers got an '86 bird...blew the 305 last week so he got a 350 out of an '88 Caprice ex-township car from the junk yard...seems we went to bolt the 2 month old edlebrock performer rpm and performer carb on and it doesnt line up...the only thing locally ive heard is that they "might" have made a different 350 in '88 for some sort of fuel injection setup...i figured a caprice would at best come with mpfi...yet this one has a carb on it...hood clearance is a prob with the carb on the stock intake so we got the intake to help lower it(if it even did)...the guy putting the engine in said nothing is matching up...he's got it in and says he got the intake on by redrilling holes and glue(so my brother says...lol)...ive always been under the impression small block chevy is small block chevy...anyone know any different...thanx

 

Well I'd imagine you're referring to the intake not bolting up to the heads and in that case, 87-95 intake manifolds were a different pattern than that of 55-86
