LT1 Questions

Hey guys,
Thinking about doing the LT1 swap, have read all the stickies and done alot of searching have a few simple(i hope) questions.

How hard would it be to set up a carbed LT1?
and Can I avoid alot of computer involvement by doing this?
I currently have the LG4 goin on, and would like to make this as painless as possible.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rob

Not to be a jerk, but that is pretty pointless. The point of the LT1 swap is for the intake. People love it because it makes great power at almost any RPM, unlike TPI. If you want to go carbed just stick w/ a normal 1st gen block.

like StocRoc said, the whole reason for going to an LT1 is pretty much the intake, its the key to the LT1. the heads are an added bonus really. If you want to go carb, stick with a regular 350, no sense wasting money on something that isnt going to be any better than a cheaper 350.

Ok well you can actually buy an intake from GMPP for LT1 and run it with a straight distributor and carb, it's going to work no prob. as of power wise . it could be good depending what kind of power you're looking for .

StocRoc has a pretty good point. It would probably be a pretty big hassle to set one up for carb, and then end up losing performance. Ill probably go with a GMPP crate and stay on the safe side. Thanks for the help all.
