3.1-95 Lt1 swap
3.1-95 Lt1 swap
I am wanting to switch out the motor on my 91 rs camaro. It now has a 3.1 v6 in it. I can pick up a whole 1995 trans am for parts with a good enging for a good price. My question is. Would it be worth the touble to switch the engine. Also is it hard. I have read mixed reveiws over the hole thing. Some say that it is not that bad and others say that it is. With the hole parts car i did not think that it would be that bad. I could change out the rear end, comuter, harness, and engine quite easily. If I could get some feed back on this I would greatly appreciate it.
I just depends on how much you want to spend and how comfortable you feel doing it yourself. If you are the kinda person like most of us who does all of the work on their car then it shouldn't be too much of a problem. But if you are like some people on here that can't even find the spare tire or know what the power steering pump is, then I would leave it alone and find a different car. It's not the easiest swap in the world, but its not that difficult either. I think all of us who made our own harness will agree that was probably the hardest part. There is a ton of information on here about these swaps and links to other sites that have information. As we suggest to everyone else that asks basics questions, read through all of that, get a better understanding of whats involved, and then, if you still like the idea and have questions, we'll be glad to help.
