We are dropping in a Big Block this weekend but I want to know if I should drop it with the headers installed, with them in the car first or just the motor first and the headers afterwards ??? I want this to go as smoothly as possible...

Put the headers in first. You'll never get them in once the engine is in the car.

You'll probably have to pull the engine out again anyway after you see where the headers contact the crossmember or body. Don't hook up anything to the engine until you're sure the headers fit.

 

The headers will hit the crossmember ??? what do I do then, do I just notch the crossmember a little ??

Some people have had little to no problems. I had to trim the crossmember, a-arm hangers and notch the underside of the front subframe to get mine in.

Hooker SuperComp BBC swap headers are NOT a direct bolt in. They're probably the worst fitting swap headers out there however they're also the cheapest.

 

I have listed all the issues I had with my BBC swap on my page at www.koolmeister.com I almost wore out my die grinder You will have to lay the headers in the engine compartment before setting the motor in.
