350 H.O. with which cam?
Well, my old 305 finally blew and I've desided to replace it with the 330hp vortech 350. I'd like to switch to a hyd. roller cam though. I already have the lifters. I also have 1.6 roller tip rockers that can be installed. I'm looking for something that will give me decent lift, but within the .480 max of the heads. I want to keep the lsa at or above 112 also, as I'm keeping TBI. Any recommendations? And am I correct about the max lift on those vortech heads? Thank you- Roy
Why won't the hydraulic cam work with the TBI?
The cam profile seems about right for a nice streetable engine, so if you really want to go roller cam, look for one that is close to the same specs. I think the max lift for the vortecs is about .450-.460 unless you make some mods to the heads.
BTW, I'm planning the same swap in about a month and also plan to keep the TBI (I'm ordering the GM manifold and a bigger (Holley 670) throttle body, but it seems like a lot less hassle). What are you doing about exhaust systems? stock is going to be waay to small.
Good luck on your project, let's hear how it turns out.

Well, check my sig (below) to see my mods. I plan on switching to 1 3/4" tube headers, but will have to stick with the 1 5/8" for now. I know the hydraulic cam will work with TBI. Check out Z28 Boy's website, and JPrevosts postings. Both have swapped to this engine. I'd like to swap to a hyd. roller cam, because given the same numbers, I believe they generally make more power-around 15hp I believe. I'd like to get something with maybe a little more lift as well, and I believe it only costs $100-$200 to get the heads machined for more lift. I'm just not sure which injectors to go with. 80pph should work, but I still have to check and see if the delphi injectors come any larger, say around 90pph.
